Mens makeup videographer

Full Face make up tutorial

The Benny Hancock case study

At freelance videographer London we love the challenge each project brings. When our good friends at Benny Hancock reached out we jumped at the opportunity. In this case study I want to show you that for us creating video content is never just point and shoot. We always plan and for us each step is super important.

Step 1: The brief.

  • 5 short videos for social

  • 1 Full face tutorial video for web

  • 1 behind the scenes video ‘meet Benny Hancock’.

This needed to be a one day shoot and there was a lot to get done. No problem, thats why we prepare! In the shoot day we also needed to capture a selection of product shots. and the audio element was important. Product shots always take time as the lighting is important.

Step 2: We create a proposal and we reference video work we feel would match the look and feel. Take a moment to see some of our similar work from freelance videographer london

Step 3: The storyboard. We always storyboard before every shoot. It is an amazing tool and it allows the client to see the story before we shoot. It is also good to display the board on the day as this allows everybody on set to see what we need to accomplish in the day

Step 4: The production. For this shoot, we shot on 2 cameras. A Canon C500 mark ii and Cannon C300 m2. Can you spot what is what? We also used a set of prime lenses as always. Using a 2 man crew we were able to create this content that we are now super happy with. Josh Cawthorn was the director . Jim Pettersen was the DOP. We rented some of the kit from Fomo rentals.

Step 5: The edit, The colour grade, The sound mix. At Freelance Videographer London we offer the whole package at a competitive rate.

We needed an high end videographer for our men’s makeup brand. We absolutely love the content Josh and Jim created and cannot wait to work with them again! They’re fantastic! 😊
